QC Engineer (Lumin AG)

About the role

AgreementGen (AG) is a web-based, AI-powered platform for drafting, editing and sending agreements. Users generate a contract from a prompt, import a PDF and convert it into an editable document, or start from a template. They then edit it in a rich-text editor with real-time collaboration, comments and suggesting mode (redlining), add signing fields and roles, and send it for e-signature.

The QC role covers the classic web-app surface (editor, templates, workspaces, permissions, collaboration, download/export, multi-language UI) and, where the work calls for it, the AI surface (LLM-driven generation and editing, PDF conversion), where outputs are non-deterministic and cannot be verified with exact-match assertions. Our automation stack: Playwright + TypeScript (Page Object Model), GitHub Actions, TestDino reporting. Test cases are managed in Notion, tickets in Linear. The team uses AI assistants (Claude, Cursor) day to day for test design and automation.

Responsibilities

  • ◦ Review specs, designs and requirements to understand intended behaviour; raise gaps and ambiguities early.
  • ◦ Define test strategies and plans covering manual and automated testing, prioritised by risk.
  • ◦ Create and execute manual test cases (functional, regression, exploratory) for the editor, templates, documents, workspaces/spaces, permissions, collaboration and send-to-sign flows.
  • ◦ Test AI features (prompt-based generation, AI editing via chat, PDF → document conversion): run scenario sets, evaluate output quality and report issues, with guidance from the team where AI-testing experience is limited.
  • ◦ Design, implement and maintain Playwright automation (smoke and regression), keeping the suite stable and fast; investigate failures and flaky tests.
  • ◦ Maintain test cases in Notion and keep them in sync with automation and feature changes.
  • ◦ Run and report on test executions (CI pipelines, TestDino), and triage and track bugs in Linear.
  • ◦ Work closely with developers, Product and Design: help define acceptance criteria and verify stories meet quality standards before release.
  • ◦ Use AI tools to speed up test design, automation and analysis, and help the team improve AI-assisted QC workflows.
  • ◦ Take part in refinement, planning, and retrospectives, giving quality-focused feedback. Join accessibility and performance testing when the feature requires it.

Your skills and experience

    Must have

  • ◦ 2+ years in a software testing role, covering both manual web testing and test automation.
  • ◦ Solid understanding of SDLC/STLC and testing methodologies (test levels, static/dynamic testing, risk-based testing, exploratory testing).
  • ◦ Able to write test plans, test cases and test reports, and to write clear, reproducible bug reports.
  • ◦ Experience testing complex web applications across multiple browsers and viewport sizes.
  • ◦ Proactive and self-motivated; can work independently, learn fast, and stay effective in a fast-changing environment with evolving requirements.
  • ◦ Good English communication (spoken and written) for working in a global team; able to work with developers, the Leader and other stakeholders
  • ◦ Uses AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or similar) in daily work for drafting test cases, generating test data, writing/refactoring scripts and analysing failures — and always reviews and verifies AI output before relying on it.
  • ◦ Comfortable writing clear prompts/context for AI tools and following team skills/conventions for AI-assisted work.
    Nice to have

  • ◦ Hands-on automation experience with Playwright (preferred), Cypress or Selenium; familiar with TypeScript/JavaScript and the Page Object pattern.
  • ◦ Intermediate+ level: expected to be able to contribute to the existing suite within the first months.
  • ◦ API testing with Postman or equivalent (REST/GraphQL); understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and reading test reports / traces.
  • ◦ Experience testing AI/LLM-powered products:
  • ◦ Understands that LLM output is non-deterministic and that a response can look fluent yet be wrong (hallucination, missing or altered clauses, wrong format, off-topic output, ignoring instructions).
  • ◦ Able to evaluate AI output against a rubric (accuracy, completeness, instruction-following, formatting, safety) rather than only “it responded”.
  • ◦ Can design test scenarios and datasets for AI features: varied prompts, edge/adversarial inputs, repeated runs of the same input, before/after comparison when a prompt or model changes.
  • ◦ Reports AI defects with enough evidence to debug: prompt, input document, expected vs actual, frequency (e.g. 2/5 runs), and trace/session ID when available.
  • ◦ Familiar with LLM-evaluation/observability tools (e.g. Langfuse); basic ability to read Python.
  • ◦ Experience with real-time collaborative editors, e-signature / document workflow products, or contract/legal content.
  • ◦ Experience with feature-flag-based releases (e.g. GrowthBook), i18n/multilanguage testing, or role/permission-based products.
  • ◦ ISTQB certification.
  • ◦ Familiar with accessibility and performance testing basics.
